Kyle Thompson Policy Assistant Community Solutions

Kyle Thompson joins Community Solutions as a Policy Assistant, with experience in policy analysis, community development, advocacy, and diversity education. Based in the Columbus office, he will support statewide policy work and the Greater Cleveland American Rescue Plan Coalition.

Graduating in May 2022, Kyle earned a Master of Science in Social Administration, Community Change Concentration from Case Western Reserve University. He has an undergraduate degree in Sociology from Bowling Green University as well as a Global Leadership Certificate.

As a McNair Post Baccalaureate Scholar at Bowling Green, Kyle presented research at university conferences and worked on criminal justice reform. As a member of the Ohio Student Association, he worked on voter registration, Issue 1, and capacity building.

In field placements at Case, Kyle supported diversity educational sessions on workplace equity, social justice, and bias training at the Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio and worked on educational development value of social work, and its relationship to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work. Supporting a Know Your Neighbors initiative, he facilitated student-resident discussions and connected students to major businesses and organizations that worked to provide advocacy services for neighborhoods such as Hough, Glennville, and Fairfax.

Kyle has been working on the Woodhill Homes Initiative, a mixed-income housing plan, with Burton Bell Carr Community Development Corp., efforts that include social service research in the Buckeye, Central, and Kinsman neighborhoods.

Kyle has also worked with the National Initiative on Mixed-Income Communities.

Kyle has also worked with the National Initiative on Mixed-Income Communities, supporting data hygiene and optimization and the Center for Community Health Integration, reviewing literature and helping to develop reference modes relating to public health and social research.
