With offices in Cleveland and Columbus, our policy, research, and communications professionals work together to identify, analyze, and explain complex issues. We focus on health, social and economic data and issues, and propose nonpartisan solutions to improve the lives of Ohioans.

Flexibility

In our permanent hybrid working environment, all employees work from their assigned office at least two days a week. Offices are centrally located in downtown Cleveland and Columbus. Remote work must take place within the state of Ohio.

Healthcare, Vacation, and 401K 

Ample paid time off including personal and sick time, at least 3 weeks of paid vacation, 11 paid holidays per year, and a week-long office closure between Christmas and New Year. 401(k) retirement plan with automatic employer contribution. Employer covers 100% of a high deductible premium plan for the employee’s coverage plus a monthly contribution to a Health Savings Account (HSA).

What do you do at a think tank?

Our public facing work is represented by four teams: Policy, Research, Community Impact, and Communications. Within those teams are typically three main roles.

Assistant

Compiles, analyzes, and reports data and information relevant to the organization’s work and demonstrates ability to work independently with guidance

Assists other program staff in collecting and developing programs specific materials

Collaborates with colleagues to support the work and contribute to one or more teams/projects

Builds familiarity and establishes relationships with organizations and individuals in the policy making and health and social service community

Organizes topic and content information and assembles or assists in analysis

Combination of education and/or experience normally represented by a bachelor’s degree, preferably supplemented by practical field work OR a Master’s degree and/or two years of experience in a similar position

Salary Range: $45,000 – $55,000

Associate

Provides professional research, analysis, and project organization and support with only general guidance and supervision

Develops elements of project scope and plansServes as a member and contributes to one or more teams and/or projects
Builds relationships and maintains contacts with organizations and individuals essential to assessing the scope of an issue or problem

Assist in identifying and following through as appropriate on opportunities for the organization

Combination of education and experience normally represented by a bachelor’s degree in a health-related, social sciences, or public administration field, plus at least two years of experience in a similar position; Master’s degree preferred

Salary Range: $56,000 – $70,000

Fellow + Director

Has broad accountability for researching, defining, planning, recommending, implementing and evaluating data; provides programmatic direction to team members; utilizes demonstrated expertise in one or more fields of health, social service, or policy projects

Develops operating plans and budgets

Assists in developing financial and human resources for one of more teams and/or projects

Serves as a leader or primary contributor for one or more teams and/or projects. Coordinate or supervise work of colleagues for one of more teams and/or projects

Maintains a broad network of contacts tracking who to engage when building an issue or position, or who are current or potential consulting clients

Make frequent operating decisions, managing complex tasks and relationships among and between staff colleagues and external individuals, organizations, and interests

Combination of education and experience normally represented by a Saster’s degree in a health, social sciences or public administration-related field plus at least five years of related experience

Salary Range: $75,000 – $90,000
