Seven of the nine countywide levies supporting health and human services on the ballot in the May 4 election passed. According to unofficial election results from County Boards of Election, most passed with wide margins during primary and special elections. The only two that failed were additional levies seeking new funding. Results are listed below.

Children’s Services

  • Allen County: Renewal, 0.5 mill, 5 years PASSED with 73% of votes
  • Knox County: Additional, 1 mill, 10 years FAILED with 33% of votes
  • Portage County: Additional, 0.5 mill, 5 years PASSED with 56% of votesSenior Services
  • Jackson County: Additional, 0.5 mill, 5 years FAILED with 45% of votes
  • Sandusky County: Replacement, 1 mill, 5 years PASSED with 74% of votes
  • Van Wert County: two 5-year Replacement levies: 0.25 mills and 0.2 mills BOTH PASSED with 90% of votesDevelopmental Disabilities
  • Sandusky County: Renewal, 2 mills, 5 years PASSED 73% of votesPublic Health
  • Miami County: Renewal, 0.4 mills, 10 years PASSED with 75% of votesThese levies will invest in services for children, seniors and people with developmental disabilities. Health and social services are particularly important as Ohioans continue to recover from the health and economic threats caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
