The Center for Community Solutions welcomes a new member of the policy team. Brandy Davis has joined the staff of The Center for Community Solutions as a Fellow, Medicaid Policy. John Corlett, President and Executive Director said, “I am impressed by Ms. Davis’s ability to connect Medicaid policy to the lives of real people, and I appreciated her broad healthcare experience and demonstrated commitment to equity.” In this role she will direct the Center for Medicaid Policy and coordinate Community Solutions’ Medicaid policy and research work.

The Center for Community Solutions welcomes a new member of the policy team, Brandy Davis!

Ms. Davis has worked for health systems in Louisiana and Greater Cleveland, as well as the HIV/AIDS Alliance for Region Two, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The HIV/ AIDS Alliance for Region Two (HAART), provides mental health counseling, housing programs, HIV testing, outpatients medical care, and legal services for clients in the State of Louisiana. She has also participated in several research projects and is the co-author of several publications.

As a Health Justice Intern at the National Health Law Program, Washington, D.C., she conducted legal research on Post-Adarand and Civil Rights claims under the 5th Amendment and the nondiscrimination provision of the Affordable Care Act to develop policy addressing health inequities. She also researched preventive health services and drafted a memo comparing Affordable Care Act Essential Health Benefits and Preventive Services Provisions.

Throughout her educational experience she was recognized for academic achievement and honored with various awards.

Ms. Davis has a Bachelor of Arts from Xavier University of Louisiana, a Masters of Public Health, Health Policy and System Management from Louisiana State University Health Science Center, and law degree from Cleveland State University College of Law. Throughout her educational experience she was recognized for academic achievement and honored with various awards.

She was volunteer with the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program, was Midwest Director of Programing for the National Black Law Students Association, and was Co-Chair of the Racial Justice Public Action Work Group at the Cleveland State University College of Law.
