The AIDS Funding Collaborative is pleased to announce and welcome Julie Patterson as its new director. Her first day is December 3, 2018. In her role, Patterson will also serve as a fellow with The Center for Community Solutions, which houses the AIDS Funding Collaborative.

“I am excited for this new chapter for the AIDS Funding Collaborative. It is an opportunity to pursue a new vision while simultaneously maintaining what we know works,” said Patterson. “I feel a deep connection to this community, and I look forward to continuing to serve it.”

Patterson has been active in the fight against AIDS and HIV for more than 25 years, first in Seattle and for the past 20 years in Cleveland. Her professional background includes work with AIDS service organizations, in academia, in local public health and consulting.

Patterson also currently serves as the chair of the Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals AIDS Clinical Trials Unit’s Community Advisory Board; is a member of the City Club of Cleveland Health Committee; and is a steering committee member for the Ohio Health Modernization Movement.

“Julie is a recognized leader in fighting HIV – both in Ohio and beyond. We are thrilled to have her skill and dedication with the AIDS Funding Collaborative,” said Tammie Jones, Project Director for the HIV/AIDS Unit in the City of Cleveland’s Department of Public Health and Chair of the AIDS Funding Collaborative.

Patterson was selected by an AIDS Funding Collaborative Search Committee in partnership with Community Solutions. The committee was chaired by Jones and Ben Miladin, Director of Health and Community Impact at the United Way of Greater Cleveland.

“We are excited that Julie has decided to join the AFC team. We know that her passion combined with her decades of experience, will be a tremendous asset to the AFC and to the community overall,” said Community Solutions’ President and Executive Director John Corlett.

The AIDS Funding Collaborative (www.AIDSFundingCollaborative.org) strengthens the community’s response to HIV/AIDS as a public/private partnership providing coordination, leadership and funding in Greater Cleveland. The AIDS Funding Collaborative is located within the offices of The Center for Community Solutions.
