Multi-system youth (MSY) are children and teenagers with complex needs that cannot be met by a single state or local agency.

Multi-system youth (MSY) are children and teenagers with complex needs that cannot be met by a single state or local agency. These children have two or more significant challenges, including things like physical or mental illness, drug or alcohol addiction, developmental disabilities or have experienced severe trauma. Community Solutions supports the advocacy efforts of The Ohio Multi-System Youth Coalition, a group of parents, child advocates and service providers, committed to addressing the challenges of this population.

The state made a specific investment of $18 million over the biennium to address the needs of these families.

Community Solutions is thankful for the General Assembly’s support of these young people. First, the conference report maintains the creation of an MSY action plan built on the recommendations of the Joint Legislative Committee on Multi-System Youth. Second, the state made a specific investment of $18 million over the biennium to address the needs of these families.
